It is narrated on the authority of Mu'adh b. Jabal that the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Mu'adh, do you know the right of Allaah over His bondsmen? He (Mu'adh) said: Allaah and His Prophet know best. He (the Messenger of Allaah) said: That Allaah alone should be worshipped and nothing should be associated with Him. He (the Prophet) said: What right have they (bondsmen) upon Him in case they do it? He (Mu'adh) said: Allaah and His Prophet know best. He (the Prophet) said: That He would not punish them. |
