‏الصيام : Hadeeth No:2435 'A'isha (Allaah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade them (his Companions) to observe Saum Wisal out of mercy for them. They said: You (Prophet) yourself observe it. Upon this he said: I am not like you. My Lord feeds me and provides me drink....

‏الصيام : Hadeeth No:2640 'A'isha (Allaah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (may peace he upon him) used to observe i'tikif in the last ten days of Ramadan till Allaah called him back (to his heavenly home). Then his wives observed i'tikaf after him....
